LABORATORY FOR BIOCHEMISTRY, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND GMO CONTROL | Print |
The laboratory is located on the second floor of the Faculty of Agriculture Sciences and Food, with an overall area of 140m2.

Equipment
  •  DNA Genetic Analyzer;
  • Real Time PCR apparatus;
  • Thermal cyclers;
  • Spectrophotometer;
  • Electrophoresis sets with G-box;
  • Elisa reader;
  • Other biochemical equipment (balances, centrifuges, pH meters, stirrers).

Analyses
  • Molecular markers of domestic animals and crops;
  • Phylogenetic studies at molecular level;
  • GMO analyses;
  • Other laboratory analyses at protein and DNA level.

Main activities
  • Scientific-research projects;
  • Organization of courses in the field of molecular biology and genetic engineering;
  • Routine analyses of DNA markers;
  • GMO control in food and feed;
  • Practise education of students;
  • Experimenatl work for M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis;
  • Popular lectures and experiments for high-schools.
