LABORATORY OF SOIL ANALYSES

The Laboratory exists since the establishment of the Faculty in 1947. It is located on the first floor of the Fac-
ulty, accommodated in a room with an area of 60 m2.

Equipment

Muffle furnace;
Kjeldahl apparatus;
Flame photometer;
Dryers;
Water distillation apparatus;
Analytical balance;
Spectrophotometer;
Centrifuge.

Analyses

Physical soil properties (hygroscopic moisture, physical content, particle density, bulk density, infiltration, porousness, plasticity and index of plasticity, stickiness).
Chemical soil properties (pH of soil solution, carbonates content, active quantity of calcium carbonate, humus content, C/N ratio, hydrolytic acidity, sum of absorbed bases in non-carbonic soils, calculation of required quantity of CaCO3, calculation of required quantity of gypsum, easy accessible forms of phosphorus and potassium, total soil nitrogen, microelements, determination of total and soluble forms of heavy metals in soils, analyses of organic fertilizers).

Main activities

Scientific projects in the field of pedology;
Analyses for the private and institutional agriculture sector.
