INSTITUTE FOR CROP PRODUCTION
The teaching, scientific and applied activity of the Institute focuses on crop production and application of biotechnology in crop production. This includes the fields of agriculture, horticulture and floriculture, plant genetics and selection, and agrometeorology. Study programmes focus on different technologies for the production of field crops, tobacco, vegetables and flowers and their interaction with the environment, emphasizing agricultural and climate factors and biodiversity. Plant genetics focuses on the genetic variability of crops and how their traits can be improved through selection. Education and research in the field of selection and plant biotechnology have a strategic importance for strengthening and developing long-term competitiveness of the industry.

STUDY PROGRAMMES
Undergraduate studies (8 semesters)
Field crop production
Students enrolled in this study programme acquire knowledge in the field of field crop production, plant physiology, modern agrotechnical practices, plant protection, genetics and breeding, as well as the basis of their processing.
Horticulture
The study programme is organized through two modules: Vegetable and flower production and Horticulture. The main goal of the study programme is to prepare students with theoretical and practical skills for the production of vegetables, flowers and decorative plants, as well as other crops that are part of horticulture, with a professional approach to the use of natural resources and environmental protection.
Processing of agricultural products - crop production
Graduates of this study programme acquire expertise and competence in the field of plant biotechnology, food engineering, nutrition, physical and chemical properties of raw plant materials for processing, the technology of food production of plant origin, as well as food safety and quality.
