LABORATORY FOR DETERMINATION OF PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS | Print |
The Laboratory is established in 1992 in accordance with the authorization (decision no. 10-1787/2 of April 14, 1992) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy given to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food. The analyses are being performed within tree separate laboratories, two of them located on the ground floor, and one located on the first floor of the Faculty, with a total area of 130 m2.

Equipment

  • HPLC (liquid chromatograph, Perkin Elmer), with Binary Pump, UV Diode Array Detector, thermostat oven;
  • Spectrophotometer (MA 9524, Iskra Merilna elektronika, Horjul);
  • Instrument for surface tension determination;
  • Instrument for determination of flash point of liquid formulations (Pensky-Martens-semi-atomic);
  • Rotary evaporator with heating bath, vacuum controller, vacuum pump;
  • Apparatus for determination of moisture content in pesticide formulations according to Karl-Fischer method;
  • Centrifuge with 4000 rpm;
  • Micro centrifuge with 16000 rpm;
  • Muffle furnace up to 1100C

Analyses

Physical and chemical analyses of pesticide formulations;
Pesticide residues in water;
Quantitative content of amino acids, sugars, vitamins, fatty acids and other components in plant and animal tissues, HPLC methods development for quantitative determination of active components in pesticide formulations.

Main activities
  • Scientific projects in the field of pesticides chemistry;
  • Analyses for pesticide producing and trading companies.
